A great two days of boat testing in Tampa Bay with the Sailing World Team at the SKYBEACH Hotel. Launching boat off the beach and out of the Marina made for an easy commute and the conditions were perfect to run all the boat through their paces

With four courses to choose from the options for great images were everywhere. Dave Reed was, as always, a great photo boat driver and created some exciting videos for the news feed. It was a pleasure to be back in Chicago shooting on the water.
Helly Hansen Sailing World Regatta Series, Annapolis
Great racing in mixed conditions for all the fleets. Light air and currents made all the courses challenging but the top teams were able to battle their way to the podium.
Brisk conditions greeted competitors on Day 3 of the Santa Maria Cup in Annapolis as teams fought for a final-four place in the semi-finals.

Annapolis, MD did not disappoint this year. With good breeze and some sun, boat testing went off without a hitch. The Sailing World Judges were able to go through the fleet and test everything from an inflatable dingy to offshore racers. The winners will be seen in the next issue of Sailing World.

Another great regatta with the Star Class in Gull Lake. Beautiful boats restored to their former glory sailed by some premier skippers and crew. Olympic medalists, Star Class World Champions, and some of the classes best talent put on a show for the enthusiastic crowd following the race. It was a little chilly this year but the wind was plentiful and the sun peaked out just enough for some great images. Thank you for including me in the Vintage Gold Cup again this year and I hope to see everyone again net time.

The 2022 Star Class Western Hemisphere Championships made for a great warm up before the World Championship. With only a few weeks between the events the competitors were able to warm up before heading to Marblehead. The tricky conditions on Lake Sunapee kept all the competitors on their toes. The Granite State did not disappoint and neither did the Lake Susapee Yacht Club.

Harbor Springs hosted the 2022 UGOTTA Regatta after the BYC and CYC Mac races. A great way to finish up the month of July with a mix of windward leeward and bay tour races. The fleet was a mix of local boats, one design and Mac race participants.

I just finished shooting the BYC Mac covering both the start and finish. With light breeze and shifty winds the first boats to finish were from the shore course fleet. Only two years remain before the 100th running of the iconic race.
One of the highlights of shooting the race was watching the father and daughter win the double handed class.
Sail GP Chicago put on a show for the spectators with Navy Pier packed and personal watercraft viewing the action.
2022 Sail GP Chicago had even the non sailing crowd on the edge of their seats while racing infront of Navy Pier. Local coverage of the spectacle was impressive as was the footage from the event via YouTube.
Back in Key West for The Southern Most Regatta.
This summer and fall I had a number of interesting assignments. Working with the Ultimate Sailing group I shot the finish of the 2019 Transpac, near Diamond Head Light. The next job took me back to Michigan to Gull Lake for the third annual Vintage Gold Cup. The number of restored star boats keep climbing and the colorful fleet is a pleasure to shoot. After the Regatta in Michigan I was able to join the Sailing World Boat of the Year group in Annapolis for a week of boat testing. All three shoots were fun and we got lots of great images while spending time with great friends.

Just finished a shoot with John Kretschmer in Ft. Lauderdale. John runs a week long seminar and has a day of practical safety demonstrations. I was lucky enough to tag along and shoot his team running man overboard drills and the launch of a life raft. All this should show up in Sailing Magazine in their Safety at Sea issue.
